Well cared for, Opinel pocket knives with a carbon steel blade and beech timber handle, will be a faithful companion in the bush and garden for decades. Opinel knives from size 6 up have a trademark Viroblok safety ring, which locks the blade in the open or closed position. Invented by Joseph Opinel in Savoie, France in 1890 and later developed into 12 sizes to suit different hands and various uses. The number refers to the approximate blade length.
(Please note. These are carbon steel knives NOT stainless. Left damp they will get surface rust which when removed will leave black tarnish marks. This does not effect the performance of the knife or it's longevity. We cannot refund or replace items with these characteristics.)
